Fraternity for children with Microcephaly
A work that combines science and love, in Campina Grande, Paraiba state. Children receive the treatment they need at the Center for Integrated Care for Children with Microcephaly, from Professor João Amorim Neto Research Institute.
A multidisciplinary team, formed by physiotherapists, psychologists, doctors, treat children, offering a chance of proper treatment.
The fraternity has embraced the cause, which was born from the heart and dedication of the doctor and researcher Adriana Melo. She is responsible for the discovery of the association with Zika virus and microcephaly.
In 2015, Brazil experienced an outbreak of babies born with Microcephaly, but the public health system was not prepared to offer proper treatment.
Touched by the helplessness of mothers, volunteers, supporters and sponsors join Doctor Adriana Melo to help.
Researches also prove that the sooner the treatment begins, the greater are the chances to overcome the sequels.
